INTERNSHIP. Scientific support: The true costs of extractive industries in Latin America

June to August / June to December (you may select a period)

Objective

We will examin the true costs of extractive industries in Latin America, using scientific evidence as support for legal action in favor of the environment.

Activities

• Create GIS products.
• Research specific cases (require and manage information from ministries, agencies, research institutes and other public entities in various countries).
• Draft documents on specific technical issues.
• Support publications and other AIDA activities (organization of webinars, workshops, etc).

Profile

We’re looking for students in at least their seventh semester of geology, geography, or other careers related to earth science, with special interest in ecology, ecological geology, territorial planning and development, sustainability, resilience, environmental impact studies, and the operations of NGOs that work at the intersection of science, the environment, law and society.
