Jordan Cruz

Fellow scientist

Jordan Cruz is Ecuadorian and AIDA fellow scientist, working from Quito. He holds a degree in environmental engineering from the Escuela Politécnica Nacional (Quito) and a master's degree in tropical ecology and conservation from the Universidad San Francisco de Quito. Jordan has experience in biochemical research on carbon dynamics and their role in climate change. He was Scientific Director of the Foundation for the Conservation of the Tropical Andes, where he coordinated interdisciplinary research and conservation projects in collaboration with local communities, international scientists, and government entities. He has specialized in studying how natural processes and human activity interact, generating scientific evidence to support fair solutions to climate change. In addition, Jordan is an activist committed to the dissemination of climate science and an enthusiast of wild gardening and sustainable agriculture.
