Sofía Barquero

Sofía Barquero is Costa Rican and an attorney with AIDA's Ecosystems Program, working from Cartago. She graduated as a lawyer, with a specialization in Environmental Law, from the University of Costa Rica. She is currently in her last semester of her Master's Degree in Law at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Sofia has significant experience in environmental and human rights litigation working with diverse communities in Costa Rica, as well as in political advocacy and parliamentary counseling. She has been a professor of environmental law and a legal researcher in environmental law and food law.
