Santiago Cané

Santiago Cané is Argentinean, a senior attorney with AIDA's Territories Program, and Coordinator of the Hydrocarbons Area, working from Villa de Merlo, Argentina. He graduated as a lawyer from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), where he also obtained a degree as Professor of Legal Sciences. Santiago also completed postgraduate studies in hydrocarbons, energy and sustainability law. He was a lecturer at the Legal Clinic for Migrants and Refugees (CAREF-CELS-UBA) and coordinator of the civil association Abogados Culturales. He also worked as legal assistant at the National Institute against Discrimination, Xenophobia and Racism (INADI) and coordinator of legal affairs at the Environment and Natural Resources Foundation (FARN). Santiago collaborates with civil society organizations working with vulnerable social sectors.

Manuel has more than 15 years of experience in human rights litigation with civil society organizations. He worked in the public sector as an advisor to the Colombian Historical Memory Center and as an Assistant Magistrate of the Colombian Superior Council of the Judiciary. He is also a professor at the Universidad Externado.
